One of the virtues of Josema Bazan throughout his career has been his ability to guide new talents. He currently has several of them playing professional soccer in different leagues around the world and national teams.
In his time in Argentinos Juniors, Jose Pekerman (current Head Coach of the Colombian soccer team and 3 times world champion with youth categories) was Coach who gave him a great teaching about working with youth.
“Youngsters help the wealth of football and its evolution."
My biggest experience is with youths, having left my home at an early age (14 years) and having lived at home professional teams clubs for many years made me learn a lot about the coexistence, needs and development of the youth player. Then, the luck factor was on my side as I was able to be on the staff of the youth and senior national teams of Venezuela (Coach Cesar Farias). This gave me many experiences, since for 4 years I was with all levels, u17, u20 and the men’s team that included competitions such as South American qualifiers for the World Cup 2014 Brazil, Copa America and the World Cup U20 Egypt 2009. Making me a specialist of this level by being able to study the individual in all its aspects of that age (courses and licenses of different countries). I also played the World Cup as a U-20 (Portugal '91) and I was able to be U20 assistant coach in a World Cup (EGYPT '09).
More recently, for many years I’ve worked in the best soccer academy in the country and participate in the methodology and growth of such.
Today, I manage the SELECTIVE program of the club being this a very important link of the program FCD Youth / professional. This bridge between academy and first team is of paramount importance since it has to adapt them and take them as close to the professional world as possible. FCD has transformed itself within the last couple of years as the club that has formed more players in the MLS than any other.
21 years of constant growth working day to day in more than 1600 youth games and more than 10 national titles gives me an open door to talk and give an opinion on the subject.
